The Electronic Coast Pilot® (ECP), version1.0, consists of Coast Pilot files formatted using Adobe’s Portable Document Format (.PDF) that may be viewed online with an Adobe Acrobat® Reader®, or in a zipped version that can be downloaded from this website and used offline.
The ECP v.1.0 files are to be considered provisional and are provided temporarily for the purposes of: software development, user familiarization, evaluation of production processes, and to solicit feedback for future enhancements to the ECP.
ECP v.1.0 files contain information from the current edition of the Coast Pilot books. They have not been updated by subsequent corrections published in the NIMA Weekly Notice to Mariners, the Coast Guard district’s Local Notice to Mariners, or NOAA’s website. These files do not meet 33 CFR 164 carriage requirements.
These provisional ECPs are provided with the understanding that they are not guaranteed to be correct or complete. Neither the U.S. Government nor any agency thereof, nor any of their employees, contractors, or subcontractors, make any warranty, express or implied, nor assume any legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information contained in these provisional ECPs for any particular purpose. Users are cautioned to consider carefully the provisional nature of these data and information before using them for decisions that concern personal or public safety or the conduct of business that involves substantial monetary or operational consequences. These provisional ECPs are not to be used as a replacement for the appropriate Coast PilotTM book(s) that have been updated for corrections appearing in Notices to Mariners. Mariners must at all times use prudence and navigational judgment and follow standard navigational operating procedures.
