See the lower left corner of any POD chart to find information about Notice to Mariners applied to the chart.

First, the chart Edition Number and Edition Date (defined as the estimated lithographic print date [month and year]) are given, along with the dates of the NGA (formerly NIMA) and Local Notice to Mariners available when the lithographic version was cleared.  For example:

11th Ed., Feb./03 Corrected through NM Jan.  4/03
Corrected through LNM Dec. 31/02

To the right of that, a Caution note is given, thus:
This chart has been corrected from the Notice to Mariners (NM) published weekly by the National Imagery and Mapping Afency and the Local Notice to Mariners (LNM) issued periodically by each U.S. Coast Guard district to the dates shown in the lower left hand corner.

Finally, in a box at the lower left corner of the chart is given the "Additional Corrections Through" which the POD chart is updated and cleared by NOAA cartographers.

Notices are applied to each POD chart and the respective "Additional Corrections Through" dates given on the POD chart.  If no Notices affect a particular chart, then the POD chart is cleared through the "Addtional Corrections Through" dates given on each POD chart.

FOR EXAMPLE, this POD chart has had additional Notices applied to and been cleared for ...

Additional Corrections Through:
NGA (formerly NIMA) Notice 52/03 dated Dec 27, 2003,
Local Notice 50/03 dated Dec 16, 2003,
discrepancies excepted.  Additional NOS updates applied in advance of publication.
Above Notices supersede "Corrected through" dates printed elsewhere on this chart.

This chart, produced and distributed by authority of the National Ocean Service (33 USC para 883a et seq.) is certified by NOAA for navigational use and meets all US Coast Guard requirements for the mandatory carriage of nautical charts (Titles 33 & 46, CFR) including the requirements for updating (FR 67:111, pp. 39695-39696).
